Hereunder are the lines and varieties I’m currently working with.

The Marten line:

  1. My most immediate project. I expect to be continuing my mentors’ marten & silvermane line via progenitor bucks from the amazing Mystic Mischief Rattery (retired).
  2. I have held back several dwarf bucks produced by me, though none are marten. These dwarf bucks will be line-bred to related carrier females initially, while shifting to a solely dwarf c-locus line. However, I will likely keep standard size marten/c-locus does to breed to dwarf marten/c-locus bucks for another full year.
  3. Five dwarf females produced in these first 4 litters were sent to my mentor for her assessment. Three dwarf females were sent to my partner (Jen at Bewitched Rattery) for her program.
  4. Eventually, dwarfs will be made available to the public on strict pet-only/non-breeding contracts.
  5. High priority in 2026 is being placed on continuing the marten/silvermane line.

The House line:

  1. My ongoing and original project, directly descended from my progenitor pairing and line bred downwards.
  2. This line has gone through minor aesthetic changes, but retains the large robust physique I specifically sought out and amplified into the line. Colours tend to run lighter- with a directed emphasis on beige, both standard and Russian, with ruby eyes, and agouti. Varieties are usually berkshire, variberk, variegated, or self.
  3. Large saucer dumbo ears and big flat head conformation are a signature of this line.
  4. Heavy emphasis from additions brought in via distantly-related WTCH rats, as the line was created with WTCH bucks from the beginning.
  5. The newest generation introduced fawn for the first time, which will be the colour direction the line steers going forward.

The Maryland line:

  1. My secondary project, I aim to continue this rexoid line graciously provided by Blue Stone Siamese Rattery in Maryland, USA.
  2. Preliminary thoughts are top ear focus, in marked varieties. Discovery of which rexoid/s we have in play is also a priority. Suspected velveteen and satin 1 combo. Will need further line-breeding to confirm.
  3. Like the marten line, immediate preliminary goals are a shift to keeping dwarf bucks to line-breed to standard carrier does in an effort to steer towards a solely dwarf line, with more variety (variable markings and top ears, and rexoid & standard or satin coats).
