Hey everypony, it’s time for another monthly update about what’s happening at Stellar Rats.
Last month, we unfortunately had two sets of returns, which was a little chaotic but we made it work. Stellar Rats will almost always accept back rats, and if we can’t, we offer to help you find a new home for them as a go-between.
Planning and pairing for the tail end of the year is underway: we have two highly anticipated litters on the ground, and could not be more thrilled with how they’re developing! Willow & Lenna are both excellent mothers, taking fantastic care of their babies – the My Little Pony litter and the Dragons 2 litter – both sired by the gorgeous and striking Sunfyre. This was a bit of a test project pairing, to nail down and reverse engineer what Sunfyre really is, genetically. Turns out he’s a Pink Eyed White (PEW), not a platinum marten like I’d originally thought. But we live and we learn, and sometimes test pairings are needed to figure things out and lock them down as facts.
Our last pairings of the year are nailed down as well: we’ll be pairing Padme x Luke, and Bix x WTCH McSir. Looking forward to many, many spotted cow babies, and hopefully dwarfs, as well! These pairings will occur at the end of November.
Speaking of dwarfs, building the dwarf line has been a bit slow, there have been a handful of setbacks, but we managed to get another dwarf buck from the Genshin Impact litter, sweet Kaeya will be staying here and joining our breeding program, pending temperaments testing as he grows up.
We have the rest of the Genshin kids being picked up in early November, and I’m so excited for their families! These babies are gonna be spoiled! 🙂
